Physicist turned engineer turned CTO turned founder. Sixteen years of building production software across IoT, fintech, and AI.
I started my career in physics — an MSc from the University of Tromsø gave me the habit of breaking complex problems into solvable pieces. That habit turned out to be useful in software.
Over sixteen years, I’ve moved through R&D engineering at Kongsberg Maritime, product management across multiple startups, and eventually a CTO role at Kobben AS. Along the way, I’ve shipped products in IoT (Talaiot.io, TrafPoint, Hortenet.io), fintech (Investwiser), maritime technology, and sustainability compliance (AINA).
In early 2026, I founded Broentech Sentinel AS to work independently: take complex technical problems and build complete, working solutions. The structure is simple — one engineer with direct accountability for every deliverable.
I’m based in Horten, Norway — a small city on the Oslo fjord that’s quietly becoming a hub for technology companies. I work from a home office, which means low overhead and the ability to focus deeply on the work rather than on the infrastructure of working.
AI is a tool, not a personality.
I use AI aggressively in my development workflow — Claude Code, LangGraph, agentic architectures. But I don’t pretend AI is magic. It’s a powerful tool that makes experienced engineers faster. It doesn’t replace the judgment that comes from having built and broken real systems over many years.
Working alone is a trade-off I choose deliberately.
One person means limited parallel capacity and no one to cover during holidays. But it also means fewer communication failures, no context lost between people, and total ownership of the outcome. For the right kind of project, that trade-off works well.
Honest timelines, honest limitations.
I’ll tell you if something will take longer than you want. I’ll tell you if your idea has a fatal flaw. I’ll tell you if I’m not the right person for a job. The alternative — overpromising and underdelivering — is bad for everyone.
